You have rescued a tortured D-Bee from the den of the Monster Brodkil, and have managed to recover a special kind of power armor.  The group is currently still in the mountains near the cave the Monster Brodkil were using as a hideout.  What do you do?

Attis will get the directions from the D-Bee to the village and start driving in that direction.  He'll then start talking, "So were you born here or in another dimension?  I was born in a far flung galaxy myself." He'll generally try to be cheerful and helpful.  During any stops along the way he'll start looking at the armor and trying to figure out what it's capabilities are and what would be needed to fix it up.  If he gets a chance he'll do some research on his computer to see if he can find it's model and any information/schematics on it.

(Perception: 17; JIC: 14/02%)

Sasha will largely keep silent, since it seemed doubtful that the D-Bee would be very open conversation, especially from multiple people. She won't scowl at the terrified man, but she won't step out of her way to make his life comfortable.

The D-Bee seems to have realized that you aren't going to kill him immediately, and although still nervous-seeming, he has calmed down quite a bit.  "I w-was born h-here..." he stammers, still looking around nervously, then takes a deep breath and tries to calm himself, managing to direct you in a general east-north-easterly direction to his village.

Hearing the second part of your statement, he looks confused.  "Far flung galaxy?  What do you mean?  You look like a human to me.   Wh-Who are you people, anyway?  What are you doing out here?"

((OOC- Who's in the car here?  I take it Sasha is, and Attis, as he's driving.  Don't forget there's still another company vehicle farther north on the other side of the lake from Hallstatt))

Once the fight ended and the Debee was safe, Max flew back up to the other car. Without exact coordinates of the Debee village he chose to wait until the others told him exactly where it was before he started wandering around the countryside looking for a village. In the interim he checked on Halstatt. Not many people recognized him beyond a few people giving him a dirty look or two(Max never strayed to far from the car before and there attention was on the large robot and tattooed guy).
Max got out of the car and walked up to a man standing there. "Excuse me sir, did those monsters attack today?" Max is worried that his leaving the village might have left them open for attack and wanted to be sure that there were only two Bodkil so that the company wouldn't leave the town with false hope.

(to the DB:)
"We're heroes for hire. And very human..." Mirya stares thoughtfully at the DB, pondering if they could obtain any ransom... or fees for services rendered...

Sure that Attis and Mirja had things well handled, Sasha joined Max in the town and while the people were wary, she made no move to threaten them. As he spoke to the natives, she stayed by the car and kept a close eye on the D-Bees that peered at her.

There were plenty of whispers going around and Sasha closed her eyes for a moment to better focus on the conversations going on around her. If she picked up anything interesting, she'd be sure to hear it -- and use it the group's interest.

Max

When Max returns to Hallstatt, he finds very few people are out and about to greet him-- it would seem that someone spotted him coming and they've gone back into hiding.  Again, two men, lightly armed with energy rifles and wearing rather beat-up looking armor block the way into the town.  Getting out of the car, Max speaks before they are able to say anything.

"Excuse me sir, did those monsters attack today?"

Looking confused and somewhat suspicious of the sudden concern, the man raises his rifle, pointing it at Max before the superhuman is able to reach them, and responds, "No, why do you ask?"  His companion is also holding his rifle at the ready, but is not pointing it at anyone in particular.

Sasha

Sasha met up with Max back near where the car was parked, and accompanied him to Hallstatt.

In addition to the conversation between Max and the two Guards, Sasha is able to make out another discussion happening in a house about 120 feet farther up the road.  The sound carries clearly for her through the semi-open window, where the participants are apparently watching the proceedings, hopefully without being observed by the newcomers.

"I hope they managed to take care of the nasty things..." says the first voice, sounding slightly hopeful.

"I don't trust them-- they might be like those Heinrich mercs-- promising 'protection' only to force us to give them whatever we have." replies the second voice.

"True..." the first voice trails off, then adds, "Let's see what they say and do."  Both voices fall silent after that.

Mirja

Being intent on your own thoughts, you don't notice that the D-Bee shoots you an uncomfortable look with the way you are staring at him.  "Heroes for hire?" he asks, sounding puzzled, "What kind of jobs are you looking for?"

Hearing the name 'Heinrich' again, Sasha narrows her eyes in thought. The name sounded more than familiar...was it not the same group that the first village they visited complained about? Hm. Tucking away that bit of information, she kept listening and smiled gently when she saw someone peek out a window at her.

With a town this nervous about attack or assault, it would be in everyone's best interest to keep herself neutral and calm. As far as the townspeople could tell, Sasha was completely unarmed. Sure, she was leaning against the car which had a gun on it...but she didn't even have a holstered gun on her. She doubted it would make her any friends, but at least they wouldn't see as much reason to point a rifle at her -- like they were with Max.

She spared him a glance and frowned a little. Perhaps it would be best to just leave, especially if the D-Bees felt it necessary to point weaponry at them during a simple conversation. If things got any worse, well, she'd just have to step in and get Max to get back in the car and leave.

Max looked at the rifle intently as fear raced through him. He wasn't afraid of the gun pointed at him, he actually couldn't think of a time a gun had scared him. What scared him is that in a situation this intense he's transform if he saw a sudden movement and horrifically murder and scar the people in the area he had chosen to protect. Max raised both his hands (not above his head but in a sort of "calm down" motion) and started to back away so a transformation wouldn't kill anyone. "Listen Guys I just wanted to be sure everyone was okay, we ran into a few last night and we wanted to be sure there weren't any more running around, okay, if you don't want me here I'll just leave, okay?" Max's voice was steady and confident, he just wanted to avoid making the confrontation any bigger.

Sasha and Max

The D-Bee lowers the rifle as he sees Max start to back away, but is still holding it in a position that it wouldn't take long to get it back up to where he could shoot.  At the same time, he looks confused and glances at his friend, who leans over and whispers something in his ear.

"So you guys are the ones that were here yesterday?" he lowers his gun a little more, looking less nervous.  "Look-- sorry about the less than hospitable treatment, but we've had some bad run-ins with outsiders-- especially humans-- recently, so we're more than a little edgy."

Turning halfway around, he raises a hand, giving a signal, and turns back.  You start to see a few people poking their heads out windows and doors, and even a few coming out a little way into the street, watching you with wary, but curious eyes.

"Anyway, you said you ran into some of those things last night." He looks Max up and down.  "You don't look like you're hurt or anything-- what happened?  Did you kill them or did they get away?"  As he speaks, he occasionally glances down the road behind you, or up at the mountains around the city, obviously keeping an eye out.  It's fairly apparent these people haven't felt safe for some time.

Sasha

You are able to hear that what the friend has whispered is a brief explanation that you appear to be the same people that came through the day before.

Mirja looks in surprise at the DB. She hadn't thought there would be any use to him.
"Mainly jobs that pay well. Why you know of any?"
